Our criteria for sustainability
MTMfair creates a digital platform that provides like-minded exhibitors and buyers with a B2B trading platform for ethical and sustainable products.
It is very important to us to act in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In doing so, we focus on goals 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 12, which are defined in the Sustainable Development Goals Report 2018.
CRADLE 2 CRADLE ®
Cradle to Cradle is the regenerative design approach initiated by Michael Braungart and William McDonough whereby all organic raw materials are recyclable and ultimately able to return into our ecosystem without creating a waste product.
Please note that when using this tag, you confirm that your product has been certified by an accredited assessment body.
Exhibitors can specify that they have resorted to regional resources in the selection of processed raw materials.
RECYCLED / UPCYCLED
Explains that the products were made from recycled raw materials or converted directly from other waste into entirely new and possibly higher value products. The best case is that no further waste is created.
Exhibitors declare that the products are durable and are suitable for prolonged use.
Low carbon footprint
Exhibitors may declare that they pay attention to lowest possible CO2 emissions when manufacturing their products. This takes into account both the energy directly consumed during production and other associated factors (transport, source of electricity throughout the operation, etc.).
The exhibitors declare that the production process is efficient and responsible towards the use of raw materials and energy. Renewable raw materials and their organic cultivation also play a part.
FAIR & SOCIAL
Exhibitors can hereby declare that they are e.g. Fairtrade® certified or comply with corresponding definitions. These include for instance the renouncement of child labour and the adequate remuneration of the manufacturers of raw materials.
Organic raw materials
The exhibitors declare that they have obtained certificates (e.g. Organic Controlled Farming, EU Organic Farming Standard BIO-VO, Naturland, Demeter, Fairtrade, Global Organic Textile Standard GOTS) and / or adhere to the appropriate criteria.
The use of this attribute assumes that the production process completely relinquishes products of animal origin. Regardless of the individual motivation (ethical, animal rights, spiritual or religious) the criteria are clear and not flexible. Again, there are options to certify your products.
